Deflation is not only an economy effect
If you have heard so far the word deflation only in economy related issues, this kind of events can also happen when talking about breast implant procedures.
Deflation happens, of course when the content of the implant placed during a plastic surgery procedure leaks into the body. Breast implants break all the time, and this is due to several reasons: normal wear and tear, trauma -for example during a car crash-, the implants being damaged during other surgery, or because of capsular contracture. In this last case, the patient develops a usual condition called capsular contracture. The body fights the implant, because it is a foreign body. The same happens with pace makers, or artificial joints. The body rejects the object, and as a way to defend itself knits a layer of connective tissue on the implants cover. This new tissue usually squeezes the implant until it breaks. Also when filling the implants during surgery, they may be over filled, causing an extra stress on the materials.
Plastic surgery procedure implants can leak because of a faulty or unsealed valve or because the cover tears. Implants may leak at any time. Is many cases, women do not realize that their implants have been leaking, sometimes over a period of years. Consequences can be very severe for the health.
Implants placed during a plastic surgery procedure are not all alike, and they do not leak in the same way. Saline implants content will most probably be absorbed by the body. If the silicone implants are filled with gel there are less chances that the content may spread.
